Please note: when you change your password

When you change your password, you will be required to go through the IT Security Awareness Training (ITSAT). All of Mason's faculty, staff, and students are required by the Commonwealth of Virginia to undergo security training on a yearly basis. You will be asked a total of 10 multiple-choice questions. The training should take approximately 10 minutes. For more information, please visit

About Patriot Pass

Patriot Pass is the combination of your Mason NetID (the portion of your email address before the @ symbol) and your strong password. Patriot Pass provides you with greater security, and allows you the ability to update or change your password on your own. When setting up Patriot Pass, you will be asked to provide answers to at least four password challenge questions. These question and answer pairs (such as the name of your elementary school or your first pet's name) will be the basis for a new forgot your password? function. Once you set up your password challenge questions, you will have the ability to reset your own password without going through the ITS Support Center.
